Thanksgiving, Family, Food and … Black Friday?

We live in a culture given to consumerism. Black Friday is becoming Black Thursday with some stores now opening on Thanksgiving day. It attracts more people in one weekend than Disneyworld does in a year.

The Original Black Friday

Lesson 22 – “Gratitude”

Jesus said to be in this world but not of this world. I recently had the privilege of teaching the lesson on gratitude at Open Door Mission. We lead men in understanding that the path to recovery includes practicing “an attitude of gratitude”.

What are we thankful for?

  • We are thankful for continued opportunities to partner with Open Door Mission, Celebrate Recovery, and Isaiah House.
  • We are thankful for mentees who are staying sober, employed and helping us reach others.
  • We are thankful for partners like you who pray, encourage us, and give to support this outreach.

While the world is celebrating Black Friday, we are celebrating over two full years of large group lessons, small group step studies and life-changing weekend events for men who are homeless and in recovery.

Thank you for helping to make this possible!
